Week #27

Playoffs are right around the corner and each year it seems there is always a team short for playoffs and I usually find a sub for that team. There was even a exception made once in the A & B division that a team even played with 3 players for one match in Playoffs. This year we have had five teams that seem to be in a bind due to players that are on holiday's, can't get time off work or lost a player due to illness. One team Tap Tap Tap who solved their problem by getting Ed Johnson weeks in to qualify. The Breakers picked up John Kendall but will need a sub for a couple of games. ^This Way Up^ is short a player for a few matches, The Mex Hookers may be short but not sure as of yet and my team Choc-A-Holics is short a player for the whole playoffs.

It was mentioned to me by Terry Samuel and Deb Williams if she could play for ^This Way Up^ since playoffs were on different weekends. I said, no we have never allowed a player to play on two teams and her skill level is a lot higher than the player she would be replacing. I have put some thought into this and to keep it fair and no last minute stacking of a team this is what I have come up with.

The player must be close to the same average as the person they are replacing and no higher than a .5 difference.

This is the fairest thing I can come up with and hope you all agree with this discussion. If a team disagrees please email me no later than Monday and I will call a meeting for this Wednesday April 8th and you can bring it up with all captains.

To help me keep it simple any players out there able to play both weekends and would like to help these teams out, please give me a call.

There was four players that each got stats, Gordon Walls, Chris Wade and Jim Brown each got two ERO's and Bill Laramee got a first attempted and a ZIP. A few more ERO's were had by Fergie, Dave Blinsky, Randy brown and Gary Adams. Peter Hus, Robin Ward, Mike Tredwell each got a ZIP and Wayne Stewart had a first attempted. Well done all!

Off to a great start of sponsored prizes for banquet from each team. Scratch donated the two Lucasi cues to raffle off from Eyes on the Harbour, ^This Way Up^ made donations from Valley West Autohaus $75 gift certificate, 1 month free from Valley Self Storage $85 to $350 value and a $30 gift certificate from Klassen's Restaurant. The Breaker donated a gift certificate from Vogue Optical for any pair of Rayban sun glasses they have in stock, about $200 value, Choc-A-Holics donated a I phone doc station $80 and a $100 Cue case. Were off to a great start of prizes and there is still 18 teams left to donate.

YANA Raffle we raised another $74 which brings the pot to $2672. and the winner of $94 was John Taylor!

Tuesday 9 Ball at Chak Loungethere was a great turnout of 21 players and the 9 ball pot did not go. This Tuesday the pot is at $549 with 6 draws!
1st - Richard Breukers $90
2nd - Dominick $60
3rd - Jim Brown $40
Top lady Christie Tipper $20

Playoffs schedule and table assignments for both brackets can be picked up at the Avalanche this Wednesday any time after 5pm

Good Luck everyone and remember to be a good sport and to have fun!
Rose
