Week #22

Welcome back to all the players that went to the CCS BC Championships in Penticton. The competition was a lot stronger than previous years and was the first year someone didn't bring home a trophy but a few sure did come close. Rob Horton and Deb Williams fished 4th winning $75 in Scotch Doubles. Chris and Jessica Wade won the second chance division of Scotch Double and won $120. Deb Williams finished 1st in qualifying and won $200 than got moved up to the ladies A bracket, put up a good fight but finished 7th. Tracy Cross finished 4th in the ladies B division winning $100. Jessica Wade finished tied for 5th & 6th and won BC entry for next year.

Rules on opening the tables before league play and leaving open after league play Yes I do own the tables, but in agreement with the venues they are to be open one hour before league play and closed after league play. When I'm around at the Avalanche I will sometimes leave one table open for the group of players that are still drinking and would like to play a little more. But I can not leave more open because when other players come into play and see tables open they expect to be able to play for free as well and seem to harass the bar to open tables for them to. A lot of you see me out on other nights playing and even though I own them I pay to play because of that reason. So please don't give me a hard time when I say no :)

Was another great night for stats! Jim Brown had 2 ERO's, Werner Ostwald and Gary Adams each got one. Ron Griffiths, Wayne Stewart, Fergie, Robin Ward, Jim Waller, Bill Laramee, Jessica Wade, Chris Wade, Jason Rushton and Dominick Griener each had a first attempted. Greg Brown, Don Randall and Eon Moore each got a ZIP. Great shooting all!

YANA Raffle we raised another $97.50 last night bringing the pot to $2312.50. Danita was sure she was going to win but I bought tickets right after her and she missed it by one ticket. Sorry my friend the full moon was lucky for me!

9 Ball at Chalk Lounge last Tuesday there was 14 players out and this Tuesday the 9 Ball pot is at $1149. with 9 draws! Last weeks winners were:
1st Robin Ward $55
2nd Richard Beauker $55
3rd Terry Samuel $30

Final League Meeting of the year is this coming Wednesday March 11th at 6pm at the Avalanche in the back room. Please send one representative from each team and I will present the full financial report and best option for playoffs. Playoffs will start on April 11 & 12 and we may need the following Wednesday April 15 and possibly April 18th and 19th all depends on format. I will do my best to try and not use April 18th & 19th. As also if the meeting takes a little longer you can extend league start time to 7:30.

Good Luck, Good Shooting and most of all Good Sportsmanship from you all!
Rose
