Week #14

Sorry all that I didn't bring back the sunshine from my holidays but sure wishing I could have! Nice to see that there was only a few cancelled matches due to closed roads and flooding.

A big thank you to Jessica Wadd for doing a excellent job with the stats wail I was gone. She had about a hour training with me on the phone and picked it up fast. Also very thankful for Deb Williams for organizing the Ave each night for league, collecting envelopes, finding team spares running last Saturday of the month tourney and doing the 50/50 draw and thanks Danita Daigle for helping her on Dec 3rd. Can't forget Jason Rushton for keeping 9 Ball going and Dave Blinsky for stepping up and leading a hand being my treasurer. You all did such a great job I never worried once. Knowing this means I think I need more holidays this coming year ;)

Teams that need to do makeup matches please call me for your opponents number and lets try and get these done before the new year if possible. All make up matches are to be played at the location it was scheduled at and to let me know first so I can let the venue know.

Only a few stats this week Stew Ludke & Mike Gard each got a Zip but it was Wayne Stewart's night to shine with 2 ERO's and 1 Zip. There was a stat missing from Wayne last week against Cue-Tease so that means 2 weeks in a row Wayne got 3 stats. Congratulations Wayne your now in first for top male...gotta say excellent shooting my friend :)

Team kits came with 15 scoresheets and envelopes to hold you over till the new year until the new ones came in. If for some reason your running short I will have extra's with me on Wednesday.

First stop on the Island Tour is this Saturday at James Street Billiards in Nanaimo Doors open at 10am and play starts at 11am, it is 8 Ball and will be skins payouts. Entry fee will be based on your ranking and a race to 5 on A and 4 on B side. Unsure of your ranking give me a call.
$15 for D & D+
$25 for C & C+
$35 for B & B+
$45 for A & A+

Cutoff date for players to win trips to Penticton will be changed. In the past it was always announced after last match in Dec and the Penticton event used to be at the start of Feb. It has been brought to may attention from a few teams to extend this date till each team has played every team once. Unfortunately that would only give players one week to get time of off work and most need to give more notice than that. I feel that Feb 4 is a good date and gives all enough time to get off of work. If your team agrees or disagrees please let me know by email or on your league envelope.

Lucasi Cue Raffle sponsored by Ray Limber from Scratch this Wednesday with all proceeds to go towards the league where I see fit. I'm thinking towards our banquet costs would be a great idea. He will pick a cue out this Wednesday and tickets will be sold first at Chalk than we will finish up sales at the Avalanche and do the draw as soon as all tickets are sold.

Roster Clean up and roster freeze is Dec 31 Over the holiday I like to clean up the team rosters of players that do not play. Could you please write on your envelopes who you would like to remove or if easier for a few team who is staying. Roster freeze is Dec 31 and no new players can be added to a team without the approval of myself or if needed a meeting with the player reps.

Tuesday 9 Ball at Chalk and the pot continues to grow it's at $857 with 12 draws. Get there early to guarantee your spot only room for 18 players.

Good Luck, Good Shooting and most of all Good Sportsmanship from you all!
Rose
