Confusion on Ball in Hand off the Break We are a CCS league and the rule is off the break ball in hand behind the head string. BCA has changed this rule to anywhere on table but we will not so players aren't confused in Championship events.

Minutes of Meeting

I was nice to see we had 28 people out for meeting with representation from all 18 teams.

Players wanting to become refs scheduled a finally meeting to review test on Oct 17, 7pm at the Avalanche. There are 6 players in the league that have sent off their test and waiting on results. If you missed the meeting you still can write test and mail in yourself.

Split the schedule after week 17 was unanimous vote for No Split.

VI Championship was a unanimous vote to remove 3rd trip to Penticton and increase nightly league fees by $1 starting Nov 23 for this season only. This will give enough funds for every team interested in entering the team event Nov 23-24 in the VI Championships. This will cover team entry and hotel room for one night for players that don't have a place to stay in Nanaimo. Each team will be responsible for table fees at a cost of $30 a player. If your team isn't interested the money stays in the prize fund. All teams were asked to write on last weeks envelope who was interested in going and we have 9 mixed teams and 1 ladies team interested. Some are short players and I may have to put a few teams together to complete a team. If your one of the undecided players please let me no a.s.a.p.

Players Reps are here to represent the league and help make decision if a meeting is called for one of the following:

* Rule Interpretation * Protest * Player/Team Eligibility * Expulsion*

Playoffs it was brought to the table by Ray Limber to split into 3 divisions for playoff A, B & C Bracket. It was felt by his team that there was to many games played last season in playoffs.

* Than Fergie suggested if we don't have the time or tables how about a Triple Knockout Format.

* It was undecided where to split the league because there is no huge cap in points this season and we all agreed to discuss this in a meeting in January once all teams have played each team once.

* I suggested if I could find a location to put my tables and play on two tables for all matches in playoffs we could play either format and cut the time of matches in half.

It was unanimous to wait till meeting in January to make playoff decision.

Play Eligibility was brought to the table from Lynda Pauls. Who should qualify to win Penticton trip in POY points? It has been mentioned that there seems to be a few players that just come into the league to win trips and not support the league after winning trips. It was decided to have the first Players Rep meeting in the next few weeks and discuss this issue.

Vancouver Island Team Challenge will continue to be sponsored by raising money from raffles sponsored by C.A.P. Billiards LTD. This year it's in Victoria at Peacock Billiards the first weekend of June. I will be looking to build a fun and competitive team of 7 men and 3 women to represent CVPL.

Trophies cost was brought up by Ray Limber that we should eliminate 2nd & 3rd to cut our costs down. It was a majority vote to keep as is.

Rack your own Rack was suggested to me by Werner to keep it more fair. Do to that fact that a high skilled player will go out of his way to give a tight rack when a lower skilled player may leave the balls lose. The majority voted for Rack your own Rack if you like to you.
