What great start new a new season!

I would like to welcome back some old faces as well as quite a few new players to our league.

It was nice to see the majority of players showed their best Good Sportsmanship conduct and helped the new players in the league. I had only complaints on one team and you know who you are, so could the captain of this team please talk to your players and have them adjust their attitude. To refresh all players memory on "sharking" and "poor sportsmanship" please go to back page of Team Handbook or our web site comox.pplms.ca and read Good Sportsmanship section. If we all work together we can continue to be a fun and competitive league for all skill levels of players.

Most of you did pay your CCS registration fee and league fees last week. For those of you that did not pay last week must pay this Wed to be eligible to play.

We had 10 players out for Scotch Doubles meeting last night and our plan is to build 4 player teams. One strong couple per team and two players new to Scotch Doubles and build a 4 player team. This format will improve the skill level of all players. We need 24 players to make this division work, next meeting to finals division Oct. 4 2012 at Chalk Lounge.

Night of play will be either Monday or Thursday some players undecided so the majority vote will decide in Oct.
We would like to be able to send teams to Penticton as well as BCA Vegas in July. Division will start in October, so spread the word and let’s get this division going.

Kids Charity Fund 50/50 we raised another $50, so to date we have $516! That is so excellent I thank you all for your support. At our second meeting after week four we will have to decide what kid’s organization group we are donating to.

Remember no handicaps for one more week.
