Week 24 stats

W0W! Was there a lot of stats on Wednesday, including the 3 teams that did their make up matches we had 8 in total. I think playing in Penticton has sure helped a few of you bring up your game. Great shooting everyone!

There sure was a lot of happy faces when I announced that playoffs weren't going to be on Easter weekend! I understand it worked better for a few teams on Easter and I thought it would be great for our Sunday awards banquet because most don't work the Monday. But as for the majority of the league it didn't work or for the restaurant at the Avalanche, and they are sponsoring our dinner.

Playoffs start at 10:30 on Saturday April 14, A Bracket plays at the Avalanche and the B will play most games at the Bridge but some at the Avalanche. Now based on tables available this is the best format that fits all.

There was also concern that it will be to long of a day. It was a unanimous vote for double knockout this year and if your team makes it to the last match on Saturday that is 6pm. Finals on Sunday are 11:30 than 2:30, dinner will be some time between 6pm and 7pm depending how long finals take.

Now there also seams to be some concern where the league will be divided because I'm not splitting the league in the middle. If you follow the stats and notice where the gap has been growing I think all would agree based on skill level where the break should be. The play offs pay outs will be adjusted accordingly by how many teams in each bracket.

I also mentioned that the bottom half of the play offs would be Round Robin. But as I reread the minutes from meeting it was decided if there was less than 5 teams it would be Round Robins. I believe we will have more than 5 teams in the B Division play offs, so this will also be a Double Knockout format unless we lose a team.

Below is what I copied from the minutes of our meeting on Oct. 26, 2011 were the formats were voted in. If anybody would like a full copy of the minutes email me and I will send one out to you.

3.) Year End Playoffs Format: The league will be split in two divisions for playoffs and the prize fund will be divided fairly based on how many teams in each Division.
It was unanimous the Top Half will be Double Knockout & No Handicaps based on overall points.

The Bottom Half is always handicapped based on overall points.
And will be Double Knockout unless there is 5 teams or less than it’s a Round Robin.
It was unanimous vote if Round Robin is played it will be Sealed Envelopes. Scores posted at the end of the Round Robin.

I have the final cost on trophies, total cost of Penticton trips as well as year end finical report is done. So next Wednesday March 7th at 6pm we can go over it all at the meeting. This is the last meeting of the season so if any one has any question or concerns about playoffs or what's planned for next year this is your time to speak up.
I encourage all players to attend the meeting or at least have someone there to pick up your finical report.

Good Luck,Good Shooting and most of all Good Sportsmanship to you all!
Rose
