I would like to thank all of you that have been so helpful teaching the new players the rules.
That's what helps keep us a fun league for all skill levels of play.

This week we had 2 birthdays! Happy Birthday to Tracy Cross and Kris Mynott and welcome back Darlene nice to see you out!

For the first night using handicaps the majority of the score sheets came in correct. But some teams are still forgetting to fill in the Good Sportsmanship Score as well as amount paid by each player.

Just a few things to remember:

* Always check and see if the player has played a minim of 8 games.
* If he has not played 8 games and is ranked as an B or lower you enter an 8 for that players handicap.
* If that players is ranked a A or A+ he goes in as a 10 handicap.
* If you are bringing in a new player and are unsure off what that players ranking is, call me.
* If a player has played 8 games and has a handicap lower than a 5, you put that player in as a 5.
A 5 handicap is the lowest handicap a player can have put in on a score sheet.
* Once each team has a total handicap score you divide the lowest handicap from the highest. Then you round up if it's a .5 or higher and under a .5 you round down.
The team with the lowest handicap gets the difference.

Each week that stats are in The Comox Valley Record, since we play on Wed. it won't make the sports section until the following Fridays paper so it will always show a week behind.

Tuesday Rec League official start date is Oct. 11, 2011 7pm at the Avalanche Bar & Grill.
3 player teams each player plays 6 games and cost is $5.
It's going to be a great night to improve your skills.
All players with a B average and lower are welcome to come out and join.
I have 13 new players coming out and a few from Wed.
