With playoffs and banquet only 23 days away there’s also a lot to do to get ready for this event.
One big thing is collecting prizes from business in the community. This year we will use the money
we raise from the raffle to send 7 men & 3 women to Port Alberni to compete in the Vancouver Island
Team Challenge! I need to know who is interested in playing in this event the first weekend of June.
If we have more interest than spots available we will have a double knockout tournament to see who will represent the Comox Valley.

Collecting prizes is a lot of work, so I ask if you could try your work or maybe a friends business if they would
like to donate a prize or gift certificate for our banquet raffle. I also have a letter typed up that I take around
to business if you would like a copy email me and I’ll sent it to you.

I have been asked what the time schedule is for playoffs because some players may have to work,
so next Wednesday I will hand out the schedule and format for the playoffs and banquet.

Last night was the first time we did a 50/50 draw since Dec. 8/10. We raised $40 and Sunny at the bar was
the winner! We will continue these draws and put the money to cover the extra cost on trophies and then
the rest will go towards sending a team to the Vancouver Island Team Challenge.

Last night we had two stats Johnny C. Got a first attempted and I got my second ERO, look out boys in the POY I’m moving on up!

Last Saturday we had 21 players out at the Avalanche for a Double Knockout Tournament. Jim Brown
finished 4th, Ken Jones 3rd and Ed Johnson was the A side winner and Steve Arbic was the B side winner
Steve took Ed out the first set but the Ed came back won two straight and went out in style with an ERO
so Steve Arbic 2nd and Ed Johnson 1st.

We also had some fun playing speed pool Cindy Brown had the ladies fastest time at 2:08 but
Christine Hansen shot a 2:01 and won the fastest lady and Jim brown shot a 1:25 and won fastest man.

Next Tournament will be Saturday the 19th 12pm start!
We must start early because it’s a UFC fight night and we have to be done by 6pm.
Since we have 5 tables now this won’t be a problem.
